Janice is a seasoned professional who has worked in the field of Indirect Tax since 1996. During that time, she has held management roles in two of Canada’s four largest accounting firms offering Indirect Tax recovery, compliance and advisory services to a wide variety of Canadian businesses.

Since founding Savage Commodity Tax in 2016, she has worked collaboratively with dozens of accounting and legal firms around the world to find common sense solutions to complex problems. As the sales tax landscape has evolved in Canada alongside the borderless world of e-commerce, so have the clients she works with who now represent businesses on 5 continents selling their goods and services in the Canadian marketplace. At home, a particular passion project is assisting developers of affordable housing in Canada navigate the complex GST/HST reporting obligations that come with the construction of new residential housing.

She is a seasoned presenter and public speaker, a former volunteer with CPA Canada’s Financial Literacy Program and a frequent contributor to CPA Ontario and ACCA-IMA continuing education programs. Her CPA, CMA designation augments an Honours BA in Economics and Political Science from Laurentian University.
