Dr. Karen Raymer, MD, MSc, FRCP(C) has practiced Anesthesia at Hamilton Health Sciences for 30 years. She has cultivated a broad range of interests in medical education at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. She was the Program Director of the Anesthesia residency program from 2014 to 2018 and is the lead author of a popular Anesthesia textbook for medical students. From 2000 to 2006, she served as a Royal College examiner, including two years as Vice-Chair of the examination board. Since then, her sustained commitment to the preparation of senior residents for the oral exam has deepened her understanding of how learners translate clinical experience into performance in high-stakes oral examination assessments.  She looks forward to sharing her experience with a broader community of learners—and learning from them in return.
