This month, join host Donna Thomson as she welcomes Dr. Anthony Levinson, Director of the Division of e-Learning Innovation, the John Evans Chair in Health Sciences Educational Research at McMaster, and the host of the Optimal Aging Portal Health & Wellness Webinar Series.
The McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA) is a treasure trove of resources for caregivers of older adults. Dr. Anthony Levinson will discuss the suite of free and invaluable dementia education tools offered by MIRA including the Optimal Aging Portal and the iGeriCare dementia education platform for family caregivers.
By attending this talk, viewers will learn where to find valuable resources, what they include, and how to use them to ease the burden of everyday caregiving.
About our speaker: Dr. Anthony Levinson is a Professor and the Director of the Division of e-Learning Innovation, as well as the John Evans Chair in Health Sciences Educational Research at McMaster. He practices Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, with a special focus on dementia and neuropsychiatry. His area of research is technology-enhanced knowledge translation, with a specific focus on web-based learning. Key initiatives related to aging and age-related conditions include the McMaster Optimal Aging Portal; iGeriCare, a dementia education platform for family caregivers; Dementia Foundations, a training program for unregulated care providers; and the Canadian Geriatric Psychiatry Online Program. He is currently working on several research studies looking at the impact of dementia education.
