Join host Donna Thomson in conversation with Al Etmanski, curator and editor of the new book Courage To Care, and Molly Peacock, celebrated poet and contributor to the book.
If you are an unpaid, or paid, individual in a caregiving role, the McMaster Continuing Education Caregiving Essentials course and webinar series will provide you with relevant and meaningful information to help you as a caregiver.
This month, the Caregiving Essentials webinar series is proud to present an inspiring and thought-provoking discussion in celebration of Canada’s National Caregiver Day, a time to recognize and uplift caregivers across the country.
Al Etmanski, curator and editor of the new book, Courage To Care–The ripple effects of love in action, will be joining his friend and host, Donna Thomson. Using fiercely personal reflections, poetry, and visual art, the book pulls the curtain back on caring’s complexity and intimacy. It is solace, inspiration, and an antidote to fear and despair. Al and Donna will be joined by celebrated poet and contributor to The Courage to Care, Molly Peacock.
Join us for a discussion about how the book, tour and related activities will enhance the “caregiver agenda” by stimulating a national conversation about caring.
About our speaker: Al Etmanski is a dad and step dad to five adult children. He thrives in the company of his grand son, nieces and nephews and their children and dogs. Like everyone he has had his share of upheavals. He and his late wife Vickie Cammack spent their working life searching for the golden thread that connects all of us despite our identities, politics, beliefs, backgrounds, upbringings and whether we are an optimist of a pessimist. They found it in caring. You can read more about him at www.aletmanski.com He is curating The Courage to Care to: Remind people they are not alone; Pay tribute to their caring with beauty. Weave everyone’s caring together? And shine a light on caring as the ethical infrastructure of Canada.
