The Marketing Team Takes on Philadelphia (and Some Awards)

A trip filled with insights, awards, and adventures
In December, our marketing team travelled to Philadelphia for the UPCEA Marketing, Enrollment, and Student Success (MEMS) Conference, where we joined higher education professionals from across North America to share insights, explore new strategies, and celebrate excellence in marketing. It was an exciting opportunity to connect with peers, learn from industry leaders, and gain fresh ideas to enhance our work. To top it off, we were thrilled to take home seven marketing awards—a testament to our team’s creativity, collaboration, and dedication.
Beyond the conference, we had the chance to explore Philadelphia, and we couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop for this trip.

At the conference, we attended a celebratory awards luncheon recognizing this year’s winners. The event featured a lively, interactive conversation with top recipients of the 2024 MEMs Awards, where innovative leaders from prestigious institutions such as Harvard University, the University of Mississippi, and SUNY Oswego shared their insights and expertise in marketing, diversity and inclusion, and enrolment management.
We couldn’t be more ecstatic about another year of success as award recipients! These achievements inspire us to continue delivering exceptional work that supports our student community and reflects our dedication to advancing education through impactful marketing and outreach initiatives.
Exploring the city
Philadelphia was the perfect mix of history, culture, and great food. We kicked off our sightseeing at Reading Terminal Market, the oldest food market in America, where we fuelled up with coffee and sampled some of Philly’s best eats, including classic cheesesteaks. Beyond the market, we explored the city’s vibrant dining scene, enjoying memorable meals at some of Philly’s hottest spots. We also took in the festive atmosphere at a Christmas market, strolling through holiday lights and seasonal treats. Walking around the city, we soaked in its historic charm, from cobblestone streets to iconic landmarks, all while enjoying the crisp December air.
Overall, our trip to Philly was not just a professional success but also an unforgettable experience. From engaging sessions and well-deserved awards to amazing food and sightseeing, we made the most of every moment.
