More than ever before, Canadians are aware of nutrition, food security, wellness, and overall health issues. As the health and wellness industry grows, so too does the need for skilled professionals in the industry. McMaster Continuing Education has launched a new Nutrition, Health and Wellness program to address this demand as projections indicate that growth in the field will rise steadily over the next few years.
The Nutrition, Health and Wellness program is an online program available to individuals nationwide. The program focuses on the foundational elements of nutrition, healthy living, and wellness to give students the tools, knowledge, and resources to succeed in this field. “The development of this program was a direct response to the growing demand for knowledgeable individuals in this growing field,” says Lorraine Carter, Director of McMaster Continuing Education. “This program is an excellent addition to those looking to add this specialized knowledge to their resume. It can also open a wide range of employment opportunities in various areas, including senior living facilities and long-term care homes.”
The Nutrition, Health and Wellness program teaches best practices in ethical and professional standards within the health and wellness industry. In addition, the program provides individuals with the opportunity to enhance their resume. Upon completing three out of five courses, students will receive a Certificate of Professional Learning in Nutrition, Health and Wellness.
As the nutrition, health and wellness industry evolves, the program will be adapted to address the latest trends in the field. Students will also benefit from connecting with industry experts like Dr. Meghan McGee, Health System Impact Fellow at the Canadian Institutes of Health Research at the University of Toronto’s Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Real-life scenarios are used in the courses which prepare participants for their future professional experiences.
McMaster Continuing Education is extremely proud of the launch of this new program which will allow individuals to learn how to create healthy living strategies for people and communities.
