Every Wednesday – October 23, October 30, and November 6 from 12 – 1:30 p.m. ET
The goal of this course is to introduce the basis of Excel for those who would like some basic knowledge of how to do simple calculations to help them prepare a personal household budget and the like.
Concepts, including introductory formulas, formatting, charts, and graphs, will be included. Based on students’ personal interests, more advanced topics, such as optimization, pivot tables, and macros, will be included.
By unlocking this power, students will be more inclined to manage their finances and feel more confident about computing overall.

Originally from New Brunswick, Jeffrey O’Leary has worked for over 13 years at Maple Leaf Foods in various Corporate Finance, Sales and Marketing positions throughout the organization. Currently Jeff works at Karl Storz Medical Devices leading a team of Accountants within Business Unit Accounting. Jeff holds undergraduate degrees in Accounting & Economics, an MBA and is a CMA and CPA in Ontario as well as a Chartered Marketer with the Canadian Marketing Association. Jeff has been teaching in post-secondary education for over thirteen years and is currently a lecturer at the University of Guelph, Brock University and McMaster Continuing Education.
