Financial Support and Assistance

Financial support to help you advance

Investing in continuing education demands both a commitment in time and a financial one. McMaster Continuing Education and its partners have initiatives in place to assist you financially so that you can concentrate on upskilling to advance your professional journey.

Funding Options

Most Continuing Education programs are not eligible for OSAP. However, there are a few options available if you require assistance in funding your studies:

  • The McMaster Association of Part-time Students (MAPS) bursary and McMaster Continuing Education award *academic-credit courses only*
  • Canadian government-funded, subsidized training options (e.g. Better Jobs Ontario, Canada-Ontario Job Grant)
  • Windmill Microlending: loans for skilled immigrants and refugees
  • Ask your employer about any tuition assistance programs that may be available
  • Financial institution student loans or lines of credit

See below for further details.

McMaster Financial Support

McMaster Bursary for Part-Time Students/McMaster Continuing Education Award

Funding assistance is available through the McMaster Association of Part-time Students and McMaster Continuing Education.

Before applying, you must register and pay for your courses on our website. Once completed, you apply for the bursary/award on your online student administration portal, mosaic.mcmaster.ca. You will receive notice 1-2 weeks later about your bursary/award status, and, if approved, you will receive a determined reimbursement.

To learn more about eligibility requirements, go to Scholarships and Bursaries – Office of the Registrar | McMaster University and select the “Bursaries for Part-Time Students” drop-down section.

Please be aware that, as a McMaster Continuing Education student, you are welcome to apply for a MAPS bursary regardless of how many courses you are taking in a given term.
