HAMILTON, ON – May 26, 2023
McMaster Continuing Education is excited to announce its collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences, Faculty of Health Sciences involving an online course called Anti-Black Racism and Critical Race Education.
Designed by Dr. Paul Banahene Adjei, an award-winning scholar and Associate Professor at Memorial University, this 10-week flexible online course will address historical, sociological and ideological dynamics that produce and sustain issues of race, racism and whiteness.
“McMaster Continuing Education is proud to be partnering with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences and honoured to have Dr. Paul Banahene Adjei as the facilitator,” says Dr. Lorraine Carter, Director of McMaster Continuing Education. “Although students can learn at their own pace through nine modules that use real-world examples, they also have the opportunity to come together to discuss various concepts in three real-time virtual tutorials.”
I am thrilled that the Anti-Black Racism and Critical Race Education program is now launched! The work for this project over the past two years has culminated in a course we are proud to share with others.
