McMaster Continuing Education offers a range of online certificate, diploma, and professional development programs. The course fees you see on our website is the price you pay (Canadian dollars).

For more details on programs, fees, and the registration process, please review the program pages on our website.

Our programs are offered exclusively online, and you can view our learning formats here. Our most popular “online” learning format is instructor-led, which allows for teacher and student interaction through a discussion board, but the asynchronous nature of this format allows you to select which days and times you participate in coursework each week. Some “online” courses may require group work so you will want to note that we operate on Eastern time zone. As for the few programs that offer a “virtual classroom” format, those courses have mandatory live sessions scheduled in Eastern time.

Most programs do not require an application. You would register and pay on a course-by-course basis, work through program requirements, then apply to graduate once you have completed the program requirements. Look for the “Register Now” or “Apply Now” tab on a program page to learn more.

Our online programs are not eligible for study permits or post-graduation work permits. However, if you are already in Canada on a study permit that lasts 6 months or more, it could potentially help to extend your study permit.

Our programs have been designed to meet the needs of the Canadian labour market and are taught by industry professionals. Gain insights on what it is like to work in these professions and network peers who may already be working in the field during your studies.

All students must meet McMaster’s English language proficiency requirements either by meeting one of the listed exemptions or completing a McMaster approved English test. You do not need to prove your English proficiency for open enrolment programs, but you will need to provide proof for application-based programs. You can click the “Register Now” or “Apply Now” tabs on our program pages to learn more.
