Topics will include vitamins and minerals, carbohydrates, lipids and proteins, metabolism, digestion, absorption and energy balance. An examination of how fitness, diet and wellness connect for making healthy decisions and achieving health goals. NHW 100 is a pre-requisite for NHW 102 and NHW 103.

Shannon Gale is a Registered Kinesiologist and certified Nutrition Coach with over 15 years of experience in public health. She earned her Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Science from the University of British Columbia and is the founder and CEO of Success In Seven, an online health and wellness coaching program for women.
Shannon’s extensive experience in teaching motivational interviewing workshops across the South Georgian Bay region reflects her dedication to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Her passion for education is complemented by her commitment to developing, implementing, and researching evidence-based exercise and nutrition programs.
Outside of her professional life, Shannon enjoys exploring the great outdoors through hiking, biking, horseback riding, and snowboarding.
