The Art of Active Listening

Course Outlines
The most important communication skill by far, is also the most underrated.  That is, the art of active listening.  It is far more important to actively listen than it is to talk.  In this half-day course you will recognize the importance of active listening and the high cost of not listening.  You will learn effective listening strategies and the importance of Listener-Centred Communication -- putting yourself in the speaker's shoes and understanding things from the other person's perspective.  You will learn how to shape your message to the needs and styles of the talker to dramatically increase communication effectiveness.  After all, 'it doesn't matter what I say, what matters is what you hear'.  We must never undervalue the importance of really listening.
