The course examines the concepts, and the relationship between, nutrition, fitness, health and wellness. The impact of establishing a healthy lifestyle according to the determinants of health and wellness is discussed. Focus is placed on the key factors and considerations necessary to plan, create and implement a fitness and healthy living program for individuals and community groups. Students should have a foundational level of knowledge in nutrition before enrolling in this course. NHW 100 is a pre-requisite for NHW 102.
